Katharina or as we call her “Kat” is one of our leading estheticians and she performs facials, face and body wax, eyelash and eyebrow tinting.  Kat’s skills have been highly sought after for many years.  Katharina has and will always have your best interest and strive for the best outcome in providing any service to you.

Marc studied at Grant Webb Academy.  He is best known for Long and Short Haircuts, especially Men’s Cuts, blow dry with Thermal Styling, Highlights and Color.

Shari an artist with the hair style she creates.  The moment you sit in her chair she listens to you and this helps her connect with you.  The result is her ability to enhance your natural beauty.  Shari is best known for her ability to give a natural, soft highlight and color look using various techniques of baby lights balayage and traditional foil placements.

Shari studied at the Graham Webb Hair Academy and trained with some of the greats for example Global Aveda Master Artist Antoinette Beeners, Van Michael’s Team, Yves Durif.  She has been featured in Ambush Makeover on Fox 5.

Salome is an energetic and highly skilled hairstylist with 20+ years’ experience of working with well respected, international, and high-profile clients.  Trained personally by Alexandre Zouari in Paris and worked with the Alexandre Zouari Salon and at the Carita Paris Beauty Salon, both in Dubai.  Salome listens to her guest about their hair needs, and discusses with them the best cut, style, color that complements them.  She also believes aftercare education is particularly important.

Salome’s passion is using the latest hair styling techniques and volume.  She is a master at hair extensions.  She won several hairstyling competitions throughout Asia to prove it.

Salome specializes in Coloring, Highlighting, Balayage, Women's and Men's haircuts, Keratin,  taped and Keratin-bond Hair Extensions, and Updos.

Thomas loves the challenge of giving his clients the best creations possible.  He brings years of experience to Georgetown Aveda working at high-end salons in NYC and DC Metro Area.  In NYC, Thomas colored, styled hair of the artists who work on Broadway, TV, and the big screen.  He also consults with important salons in Vietnam.  Tom uses this opportunity to teach others current skills and hair techniques and at the same time he learns their techniques and styles that he uses to incorporate into his own creations.  Thomas specializes in Coloring, Highlighting, and Balayage, and gives a spectacular haircut along with your service.

Michael receives each guest with a gracious spirit of humility and services a roster of professionals from corporate, political, entertainment, sports and working professionals.

Michael is a native Washingtonian and graduate of the famed Dudley Beauty College located in Washington D.C. He furthered his academic discipline by training at Vidal Sassoon, and attained certifications with L’Oréal, Oribe and Kerastase . At Kerastase, Michael served as an ambassador for the brand. Michael is a skillful expert with various extension installation methods such as micro links, tape-in, hand tied wefts, and traditional weaves.

While Michael is known for sumptuous, sun kissed Balayage, long cascading layers and chic short cuts, he also enjoys the artistic freedom in creating avant-garde looks for those who dare to walk to the beat of their own drum.

Michael’s work has been featured extensively on countless runway shows from coast to coast including New York & Miami Fashion Weeks.  Industry opportunities have led to showcasing his talent on both national and world news outlets such as BBC, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, and Bloomberg.

Ertan fell in love with the artistry of cutting and styling hair.  He learned from the best Hair Stylist Masters in Turkey the different ways to cut hair.  He also studied in New York City on Madison Ave and trained under Frédéric Fekkai.  Ertan is Aveda trained and continues to update his skills.  He specializes in updo’s and cutting and styling women’s hair.  And he does not just cut men’s hair, he styles their hair.

London-trained and previous artistic director of a 23-salon chain.  Former owner of New Wave Salon, Rainbow Salon, and Artech Hair Studio. Rick is an expert with short, long, and curly hair.  Rick is a hair make over specialist and doesn't subscribe to the one-size-fits-all approach to hair design.  Every haircut and color that he fashions are customized to meet that guest's features, the texture of their hair, the shape of their face, and their height. Decades of experience and a veteran of hair design, Rick is part of the team at Georgetown Aveda Salon and Spa offering guest haircuts, highlights, color, Keratin treatments, permanent waves, and top quality hair extensions, all with a creative eye and desire to craft a style that suits the guest with an emphasis on hairstyles that are easy to re-create at home before their next service.

Dennis is the former owner of the Roche Salon in Washington, D.C., which has received accolades for the eponymous fashion forward salon he created.  A true artist, Dennis is at home making art in it many forms – whether in a studio, behind a camera, producing fashion shoots, or with scissors in his hand accentuating the beauty of each unique face.  Dennis is bringing to Georgetown Aveda’s discerning guests a combination of international experience, the aesthetic expression of cutting skills and his exclusive coloring techniques including gold leafing, concentric circle shading and linear coloring.  His efforts and expertise, offering top-of-the-line techniques in cuts and color as well as advanced services and treatments.  Dennis Roche has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure, Vanity Fair, and The New York Times.  Coming to Georgetown Aveda Salon, Dennis said, “I searched for a salon where stylist artistry and impeccable client service runs hand in hand.  And I believe Georgetown Aveda has those qualities.”  Dennis goes on, “I look forward to sharing my hair color training and techniques such as layered color and alternate highlights with the special guests at Georgetown Aveda.

Sarah studied cosmetology at La James International college and has been a certified cosmetologist since 2012 and has been an Aveda specialist since 2015.  Sarah said that because Aveda is focused on natural plant derived ingredients, vegan and cruelty free, it fits her background of herbalism and holistic health perfectly. She specializes in color from black to vivid reds, every color of the rainbow to platinum blondes.  Finding the right color for her guest is her expertise. Sarah is well versed in hair styling skills but known for her edgy cutting techniques.  Sarah has worked hair shows along with photographers for hair and makeup for magazines to wedding photo shoots, and senior and family photos.  Her own healing journey along with her background in herbalism and holistic health help her dive deeper into the plant derived ingredients with guests helping each person choose the right products for hormonal issues, hair thinning & hair loss, and any scalp & skin conditions, which goes well with the Aveda philosophy.  Sarah is a military wife, personal trainer and has her own business in Holistic Health and Nutrition.

Akeya’s path to beauty and wellness blossomed from a lifelong love of art in its many forms. She received her education as an esthetician at The Aveda Institute, Washington DC, and has been in the beauty industry for over 11 years.  She aspires to assist in establishing an unwavering confidence in her clients’ esthetic standards through enlightenment and open communication.  Akeya believes that as a skilled esthetician, inspiration and efficiency go hand-in-hand when providing a professional and positive experience for her guests.  Her goal is to provide customized, relaxing and effective pain-management techniques in a safe and trusting space.  She also feels a true sense of empowerment is discovered through continued creativity, education, and exploration of the skills we are most passionate about.  For Akeya, the ultimate reward is witnessing others become inspired, and equally passionate about creating an optimal and sustainable plan for their personal skin health and wellness journey!  Akeya is truly passionate about astrology, poetry and creating health-conscious, new, exciting, plant-based and beautifully creative dishes/food.  Akeya is always excited to share the Aveda Lifestyle!

Esthetician and Makeup Artist

Zoe received her introductory training and practice as an esthetician in Istanbul.  Over the next 15 years, Zoe continued her education and practiced her art in Paris and London where she spent two years improving her skills.  Zoe has been working in her chosen field since the age of 12.  She is pleased to be at Georgetown Aveda Salon & Spa where she can perform her art and to share with her guests her experience and give them the best treatment that she has to offer.  Her expertise is in professional Skin care, Makeup, Eyebrow and Lash, Threading, and waxing.
